Raising Films - Making It Possible
The final Making It Possible course is about to take place in Dubbo this month. This will complete the series of one day programs also held in Sydney, Penrith, Byron Bay and Bega, and will have been delivered to almost 60 female creatives engaged over the duration of the pilot program. A massive thanks to our amazing facilitator Monica Davidson from Creative Plus Business for delivering courses over the past 6 months. The courses have also been supported by our partnership with Screenworks, with additional on the ground support from AFTRS, South East Arts and Dubbo Filmmakers. The overall strategic project has been funded by Women NSW, Create NSW and WIFT (NSW Chapter).📷
Making it Possible for Olga!
One of our Penrith Making It Possible graduates, Olga Markovic shares her great news about All for Eve.
By Olga Markovic:
All for Eve is a digital series I am writing which has received Screen Australia Generate development funding. The story is about Grace, a 39 year old aspiring artist who must enter the corporate workforce after her husband is killed in an accident, leaving her to raise their toddler alone. I will be playing the lead actress and I’m hoping my toddler can play Eve.
The Screen Australia funding has really provided me with an amazing opportunity to collaborate with such high-level writers. The writer’s room included Justine Flynn, Tamara Asmar, Monica Zanetti, Nisrine Amine, and Amanda Doueihi. I am now collaborating with script editor Holly Lyons (www.screenwritingscriptease.com) on the script. Holly’s experience and skill have allowed me to further develop the story and answer questions I would not have been able to do so on my own. I am really excited about how it is coming together.
Making it Possible came at the perfect time for me, I seriously considered giving up in the industry after becoming a mum, it all felt too hard. Making it Possible helped me work through my goals in manageable and realistic steps and gave me the inspiration to keep going. The mothers from the course still keep in touch and we encourage and support each other along the way.
